OWL Orphaned Wildlife Rehabilitation Society
Description
Bird banding in British Columbia is a process that involves attaching a unique number to a bird's leg to identify and track it: Banders capture the bird, identify it, and then attach a band to its leg. The band is large enough to not constrict the bird's leg, but small enough to not slip off.
OWL (Orphaned Wildlife) Rehabilitation Society is a registered non-profit organization whose staff and volunteers are dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of injured and orphaned raptors and to educating the public on the conservation and importance of them.
