The Bald Eagle
Description
The Bald Eagle is a large, powerful North American raptor that has undergone dramatic population fluctuations over the past two centuries. Once abundant, it declined during the 1900s initially through hunting and then pesticides, primarily DDT, lowering reproductive output. OWL (Orphaned Wildlife) Rehabilitation Society is a registered non-profit organization whose staff and volunteers are dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of injured and orphaned raptors and to educating the public on the conservation and importance of them.
